The son of Yusaku and Sherry Hijioka, founders of Sunrise Gymnastics. Kevin grew up at Sunrise and was also a competitive gymnast early in his athletic career. He went on to try other sports and found another sport he loved in wrestling. Kevin was the first wrestler from his high school to win over 100 matches and attributes his success to his gymnastics background. He has been coaching boys and girls gymnastics since 2014 and wants to continue for as long has he can. Kevin’s goal is to use gymnastics as a tool to develop a positive, mature, confident, and responsible young adult.







Chris Brown is the Head Coach of the Sunrise girls gymnastics team. He was a gymnast for 16 years and during this time he was both a State and Regional champion. He was also a 3 time J.O. National qualifier. He competed for four years at Eastern Michigan University and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics. After graduating college, he spent a few years being a judge for gymnastics. He has coached team level gymnastics for over 15 years during which time he has helped develop numerous State champions and Regional qualifiers.









Gail Hodson spent 10 years as a gymnast. She grew up wanting to become a gymnastics coach, and is now living out her dream. Gail is married to her husband Ben, and they have 3 boys together (Tyler, Dylan, and Gavin). They also, have a dog (Roxy) and a cat (Hobbes). Gail spends most of her time coaching, but finds time to watch her boys play baseball. She enjoys time with family, watching Real Housewives on Bravo, and concerts.
Brittany Bonin has been working at Sunrise Gymnastics since 2011. At three years old, Brittany began taking dance lessons at Defiance Dance Studio in Ohio. Over the next few years, she increased her dance portfolio to include ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop. At the same time, Brittany was a member of the Tinora Ramettes, competing in Pom, Baton, and Show Team. When her family moved to Colorado, Brittany was accepted as a student at the Danza Dance Academy where she joined the Junior Competition team. In 2008, Brittany's family moved again, this time to Michigan. Now in high school, Brittany actively participated as a dancer and ensemble member in the yearly productions of the school musicals. Graduating high school in 2011, Brittany turned her focus to completing her upper education. She attended classes at Monroe Community College with a focus on Early Childhood Development before transferring to the University of Toledo. Brittany graduated in 2018 with a BS in Psychology. She plans to further her education in the near future by returning to school to earn her Masters and licensing for Counseling. Brittany has always enjoyed working with children and coaching gymnastics has been a very rewarding opportunity. Currently, Brittany coaches preschool and progressive classes, as well as co-coaches Training Group and is one of four coaches for Pre-team and Compulsory levels two through four.
Molly Green began gymnastics at 9 years old and started competing at 11 years old at the YMCA gymnastics center in Perrysburg. She competed up through level 8, and was active on the Whitmer Gymnastics team, earning a 4-year varsity award. In college, Molly joined competitive cheer, where her team won the league title two years straight her junior and senior seasons. Her team also attended the national championships 4 years of her 5 years on the team. Molly is now staying active with CrossFit and still plays around in the gym occasionally, “making sure I don’t lose all of my old tumbling skills!” Molly has been coaching gymnastics now for 8 years and has been at Sunrise for 6. This will be her second full season coaching team.
